Art And Crafts Garden Studio
Hi there,
Iain here. Alex and I visited one of our customers recently - Wendy King - and she very kindly let us take some photos and videos of her garden studio which she uses for her sewing, art and crafts...
Wendy has a 15' x 9' (4550mm x 2730mm) LoLine QC with a 3' (910mm) flyover roof and a 6' (1820mm) decking on the front.
Wendy has a beautiful garden and made the most of it by positioning her studio on the top corner looking out on it...
She has a fanlight positioned in the middle of her rear wall which as well as giving extra daylight for her work, also means that she can get a nice flow of air on a warm day by opening her french doors on the front and opening her fanlight window on the rear...
Alex and I dicuss the fanlight window in this video...
In this video, Alex discusses putting a recessed blind in a fanlight window. Wendy didn't have a blind because her fanlight window faced out onto a hedge as well as being north facing (no direct sunlight). Another option on a fanlight window is to have frosted glass if privacy is required...
This photo shows the french doors and you can see the recessed blinds installed in every window. Wendy says they are a big help when the sun is strong since her windows are south facing and get maximum sunshine through the summer months...
The photo above was taken on a cold dark January day so you can see that Wendy had 3 downlights installed in her flyover roof along with 2 outside pillar lights.
Alex and I discuss Wendys studio in the video below...
It started raining hailstones in this next video where Alex and I discuss the advantages of having a flyover roof on the front of your garden studio...
So big thanks to Wendy for letting Alex and I visit her beautiful garden studio and if you would like to visit a QC garden studio to see if it would work for you - simply contact us by CLICKING HERE. and we'll get a visit organised to a garden studio near you.
