Guest Bedroom & Garden Gym In Garden Studio
Alex and I visited Gill who has a 18' x 12' (5460mm x 3640mm) LoLine QC garden room in Wales. It was installed in September 2012 (see "just installed" photo below) so was interesting to see how she has been getting on with her garden studio...
Gill wanted a toilet in her garden room but the groundworks for a mains toilet were going to cost about £8000.00 because her garden was so long with lots of trees in the way. So Gill decided to have a cartridge toilet installed in her garden room. A cartridge toilet is a chemical toilet similar to those installed in expensive motor homes.
UPDATE:
We now recomend the new Thetford Cartridge Toilet which is reviewed in this video.
Alex and I discuss the older Thetford toilet in this video...
To go with the cartridge toilet, Gill has a cartridge sink which is a clever piece of kit - when you put your hands under the tap, it automatically dispenses enough hot water to wash your hands. It has 2 x 5 litre containers below it - one with fresh water, and on which is empty. The fresh water is used to wash your hands and the dirty water then simply empties into the other 5 litre container. Perfect for occasional hand washing - Alex and I discuss this in this video...
Alex and I discuss putting internal partition walls in your garden studio in this video. Gills toilet cubicle is 6' x 3' (1820mm x 910mm)...
Alex and I discuss the way Gills garden room is used as an occasional guest bedroom and garden gym for when her family visit them in Wales...
Gill discusses how her family use their garden studio with Alex and I in this video...
Many thanks to Gill for her time, comments and cups of tea:-)
