I'm here with Alex and we're just discussing the external walls of the QC Studios Alex what's the story on that yeah these are steel walls steel clad so it's 75 mm thick galvanized steel that's coated in this leather finish as you can see there's no way it's ever going to fade rot you're never going to have to maintain this most you'll have to do with this every couple of years is just I don't know even if you'll need to do that just give it a little wipe down maybe dust it down but nothing else so and that's the reason it's 25 at least 25 years this is a well proven product this isn't a new product is is it a chorus yes rated is it chorus that make it yeah it comes from Chorus steel well I think chorus have been brought out by tataa but that's all irrelevant but yeah it's a steel product coated in this plastic finish so and and it's gray this studio is gray with light oak pillars yeah so what we've got there is the oak pillows and the gray walls and I I can just see I think on the video you can see it is it's a plastic Co like leatherette finish yeah yeah and then it's secretly fixed Behind these uh but when I say secretly fixed you couldn't get in to get these fixings off with the old slide on so there's no fixings are visible all right so burglar couldn't sneak in there no no definitely not right and presumably because it's galvanized steel from a fire risk yeah we we just did a building in London not long ago and uh we needed to get building regulation impr on it and when we asked why the uh cocky building regulation control asked us if we'd heard of the great fireand so basically if it's a Timber building I there's one there it could go on fire so they don't want to be within boundaries so if this was a Timber building there's a Timber building probably conten building regulations it's too close so if this C fire would spread to there obviously on this one it can't catch fire cuz it's all steel can you kick that ball cuz the dog's going mad here Richard's uh Richard's dog uh thinks we're babysitting for it so go right yeah so I think is that it oh well that's yeah gray isn't it um we do a dark green as well Holly green we call it yeah it's not the same as the Windows though is it it's not quite no it's not quite Clos you can get very closer very similar but yeah okay oh that's brilliant thanks for that

and Alex the we're just discussing the windows there but uh we didn't mention the fact you can do half window or an inset window yeah yeah we could we could if that's a panel so that's the 3T panel or the 910 panel you can have a window halfway up halfway up if you want so you could have half Windows all the way along the wall so if you want we did one not long ago where he was near a river so he had half Windows all the way along top so desk could go underneath it right so and he had a small ledge you could also put an inser window in so and what's the difference between an inset and a half window a half window is the 910 wide and therefore you can have a row of them you could have three or four of them together if you want an inset window say you're doing a bathroom for example you might just want a small window inset into the panel ah right you can also have a long inset window into the panel which can be quite architecturally attractive right okay that's great thank you

all right i'm here with alex alex you've got a fan light window to show me we get asked for fan lights you know we do uh three types of windows we do a half window the full window which is our standard window yeah which in this case wendy she uses this is a craft room she knew this was going to get hot and she wanted some air to blow through it and if you have windows opposite side of each other that will always happen so when we've got this tilt this fan light window and it opens opens and it's got a lock on it that has for that lock and there's your heat so we can lock that up so and i was surprised at the height of it i had it in my head it was a lot higher than that but well your lintels uh your soffits through there so it's the same height as the as the as the corresponding yeah so what we've got in there is a lintel with a piece of steel in it a box of steel in there right it's supposed to so it's roughly it's just about it's just slightly above your head height then isn't it and you're some people have them because they want light coming in and they don't want to improve on their next-door neighbor you know yeah the neighbor looking in so some people have them round a row yeah now wendy said she really likes it yeah she does yeah yeah okay that's great thank you

and you've got a new tilt window to show me yeah this tilt window's got the recess blind in it so that's the recess blind and then the window tips so you can all right so so it's got a handle which presumably that's got a lock in it a key in it isn't it so that locks take lock out you can lock it unlock it push the button in and then it tilts so this is that is you was telling me it's a slightly simpler design than is it tilt and turn or am I just getting mixed up tilt and turns are you would normally go from that position that's tilt to that position it would open we've got rid of that cuz the weight of the window is too heavy for the Tilt and turn but it's good enough for the Tilt so we just bent the room we use these recess blinds because if we were to put the uh the Tilt blinds on uh the standard blinds window would tilt it would hang away from the wall in the window the same with the door on the doors for that reason right but uh so that's how it works okay and the roughly how big a gap is there four in yeah probably getting on for 4 in isn't it yeah Ven and it's m I can see it's multi-locking when yeah you they're very very secure yeah okay well that's fantastic thank you for that

okay I'm here with Alex we're just discussing the French doors Alex the uh the studios are in three foot sections aren't they so as a French door 6 feet wide exactly that's exactly what it is and what's that in meters 1820 right well 18 it's slightly under six just five 10 under six foot right a good give or take yeah 1829 6 exactly so when the French doors open is there still a stanion in the middle no this is what they call floating transom a floating what floating transom so it floats it's attached to the door so that door will open shut this there's a bit of noise going on there we'll kill two birds with one stone here as you can hear you can hardly hear me but we open the door Gard are working next door yeah so that that sort of helps you understand how French draws how tightly are the seal very tight we're open that it's a bit noisy okay so yeah you have two shoe bolts so they into here into here the top and the bottom yeah so what we do is that's that's now fixed so that is now the lockin section for this door so so the majority of the time then you wouldn't be using it as a friend no this this would be locked you know majority of time you keep that locked you won't even uh use that so this would be locked I was like the deer hunter cuz I have two keys there all right so uh yeah so this one's the uh the one that works this I don't know why they do this this is called the master and this is called the slave but the main door is the slave yeah no it's the other way around this is called the slave sorry and that's called the master right and I think oh if that was the other way around the other one would be the work right put that so that's the master door and can can you decide which one you want as the master yes yeah you can you can if you wanted that one to be the master or that one to be the slave you you can the best way and rather getting mixed up with master and slave one to be the first open and what and one to be the second opening yeah yeah that's that's the best way to look at it okay and when they open is there a way of them uh not banging into the studio or how and how far do they open well what they have is they have a restrictor on them remember it's really noisy out here there's your restrictor here and what that has is a brake shoe in it so I can tighten that brake so that if the wind was to catch it it wouldn't catch it badly then if it goes to there it will automatically stop you can if you want pull that down all right you just pulled that out pull that off oh all right send that back around to there and a lot of people have a hook where they hook hook on to here right so that gets hooked on we can all right so if so you just unci that stop yeah oh that's fantastic I didn't know it did that bring that down so there you go how's that for noise level yeah yeah okay that's brilliant thanks for that
