Rea's therapy practice at the bottom of the garden

I'm just here with Alex and we just pop down to are we Devon Deon and we're here with Ria who we recently installed a studio for yeah we've just come back to have a look at this one and I say Ria that's why I want to capture this on video sometimes we build a studio and we nearly get it finished and when we see nearly get it finished it's the decorating that finishes it and that's going to take three days days and it's more a labor of patience than intensity when we build a studio we travel to exitor with a lorry four five men Studio goes up and it's great and nearly just about finished but then the decorating we decorate it and we decorate it to a decent standard but it's always a joy to come back and see if somebody's just gone over it and done it to this standard cuz it just lifts the whole place cuz I know the buildings look but this is just that little bit of patience and time and somebody known who what they're doing and you can tell you had a proper quality decorator in here what what you referring to then well you probably can't see it cuz look at these buildings day in day out the finish on the doors and the arch waves and the skirting and the whole sharp you know CU we look for sharpness I mean it's silly little things when you look down at the bottom of that door and the way that's finished against the floor and all the sharp edges all working there's no smudging probably won't come out on a video no but but we do we do love your uh your main therapy room with your wall your wallpaper and your uh is it anager yeah you put anure on the walls which I've never seen done and then a little look so this is the main therapy room so there obviously your two chairs yeah to uh that wallpaper just puts you in a different space doesn't it it's fantastic and just in the green on the walls and then you've used this anter on the walls which because of the thickness of the paper can hide the join in the wall there's always a joining the wall cuz it's a mobile building so we we could cut that down and take that the whole the whole building away if if you wanted to but the Finish is uh you know it's one of the best I've seen to be honest and it's just nice cuz we put so much effort in and there's nothing worse when we go back and they've took it the other way you know oh yeah painted it and you looked well you painted it orange and youve painted the floor as well for some reason or you splatter did it all turn out as you hoped really yeah absolutely yeah it's brilliant I'm really really happy with it it's it's exactly how I thought it would look from all the plans and everything CU you had a very specific yeah you came I knew what I wanted exactly exact layout I knew exactly what the decco was going to be as well before you guys came into it but yeah it's perfect it's brilliant I'm really happy with it and everybody who's walked in so far just really loves it as a space yeah it feels great doesn't it because it's just a nice yeah and it'll be even nicer once I've got the garden done to go with it it'll be even nicer so it's funny cuz the studio that I have in my garden I don't know if you know I Irene stays in it and she was never a keen Gardener but she's a very keen Gardener now she just Gardens this little space and I looked out the window the other day and I said to my P how could the garden looked and she went out irings out there every day just weeding or or tending to some plants and she loves it but then you imagine that all this glass all that area out there is part of this area in here yeah anyway so all you're just going to do is expand on it and bring it in yeah that was the plan that's that's kind of what I've gone with green because it's it's all about nature and earthy and kind of bringing the outside inside and the inside outside yeah look we've done a fantastic job it looks looks brilliant there was a long drive down SP it four hours to get here yeah well worth it have youing in my therapist Che see what it's like to be I wouldn't make a very good therapist be too nosy I think not

we're still here in Ria's Studio Alex she just pointed out that I thought we'd installed the toilet and sink no yes we didn't install anything all we did was the petition walls right we put the petition walls and the doors in uh I think we did to make it easier for your Builder we brought the pipe up yes because we do that and we drilled the hole out the back wall for the back wall of the for the for the toilet yeah because we knew that they might be concerned about where they can go with the hole we knew the height and because we put them in so we've got holes through the wall because it's steel something you need a hole saw that cuts through steel which we have on right you know so if somebody wants to install their own toilet it's not a major deal I'd recommend it because you probably you had one person working here as opposed to four maybe yeah it was a much smaller team yeah so rather than a big team and presumably you might have got it a bit cheaper as well then Dennis doing it because they haven't got hotel costs and all that sort of thing I would I would I would imagine so that you know because we we have to charge and it's a four hour Journey here and as you know we put the studio up in two days and that one uh lovely but when you start doing a bathroom when you're that far away from home and the thing with the is knowing where your local suppliers are because you might need just one uh a little valve yeah for the want of a nail yeah you know it might be just one thing so you can spend a lot of time as a plumber you know plumbers have got a bad reputation I've never been on site it's not that they're never on site it's just they're always looking for one more one more part so you spend a lot of time chasing around so if you are a tunnel you know we fit Garden studios I mean we do bathrooms a lot of them where we install them and we do it at the workshop the majority of the work bringing the bathroom but on a bathroom like this which is face basically a simpler one it's easier for to get somebody else to do yeah if you know somebody so we can do all the work but if they've got somebody they can trust and that's what it comes down it's that bottom line is it that we sometimes customers follow I know we can trust you and and if it was my this like the studio I fitted in the garden so I mean to live in to be honest I want it done completely finished I wouldn't want to be chasing four or five other people yeah project manager but um some things if you are capable then we would recommend having a go at it yeah because you can save some money yeah I did it in three stages as I saw it I did the first stage was digging out the pipe work and the electricity from my house to this area the second stage was getting it built and then the third stage was getting the company back in again to install everything else yeah yeah and it all went pretty smooth it went very smoothly yeah the timing was great your your guys turned up when they said they were going to and if because I knew when you you were coming I was able to plan the other guys around it right okay that is one thing with the studios we we can keep it's very rare we break our schedule it's got to be something well it's a pain for us to break our schedule isn't it so we do try because it's not just moving one jaw forward every single job which can be six or seven months worth of work and move forward two days so we really really try our best yeah keep the schedule sometimes the weather messes us up yeah but we try and work around that as well don't we yeah I know that my friends couldn't believe how fast this building was built they were absolutely amazed because I took pictures whilst it was being built and to go up in like two days this whole thing it's just incredible um yeah and the guys what do you see is a good time wrong side yeah good lunch and you know where you are so it's a bit sporty like gamer rugby you know what you've got to do get on with it that's a bit of camaraderie okay that's brilliant thank you

well it's just I I wouldn't mind you showing us around Ria just simply because you've obviously thought it all through it's just we do get inquiries from therapists and and it is that dilemma of well how is best to arrange it all because you've got a waiting room I mean yeah could you show me that what I did I play so I've got sort of like two areas which I could have as waiting room um and also more area for storage if I needed to later date so so you could literally have people who don't know each other and they could wait in different areas exactly so there may be a seat out here and a seat in there just to separate people but at the moment I'm just using this this area is that is that consciously you trying to because you don't want them sort of kind of socializing or just yeah it's a privacy thing as much as anything right so that I've got more space to divide people if I need it so I've got a couple turning up and they don't want to sit together it would be quite nice to have one sitting out here and one sitting in there and whilst they wait but for the time being that's not my primary concern okay I'm keeping people in here where I've got my radio so that this isn't in here with the radio on and you've got this wall and then another wall before you've got therapy room so hopefully people who are having therapy have got that privacy and confidentiality going on all right so with radio in here it's it doesn't bother me in there because the radio Sound doesn't go through right and mewild they can't hear what's being said right excellent um hopefully it's a nice little space yeah so this is but no it's lovely and you've got a little rug as well colorful rug yeah yeah fantastic so that's your well obviously you've got you've basically got two weight in red areas just in case because I want you'd already said about not being able to expand it um to make a date so I thought well if I go for a little bit bigger then if I need a bit more space for waiting then I've got it um then I've built a toilets into here small thing in the loo and extract the fan so that's six foot by three foot isn't it 18 20 by 90. it turns your space and that's where I've got the two walls yeah and so yeah so basically you're saying that's a divider between your waiting room and your therapy room and then that still leaves plenty of room yeah because I want to be able to do group therapy as well so I might bring in some extra seats to later date so that I can have groups of people sitting all around in here as well as just working with individuals and couples during the day yeah so that's why I wanted a bit more space and you've also installed a little kitchen as well haven't you yes is that because we didn't do that did we no no what I wanted I wanted a dishwasher because I offer so many um glasses of water and Cups of Tea I thought it'd be really nice to have the dishwasher on hand so that I can at the end of the day just pop everything in here set it off and then when I come in the next morning just empties and it's all nice and tidy it's all sorted yeah so you've got a little dishwasher is that just storage next to that yep just straightforward yeah and I've also got plenty of room up top yeah current decorations yeah it's nice to meet somebody who thinks about Garden studios nearly as much as me but it's stunning yeah no I know it's really interesting you know the uh sometimes Form and Function I was I was thinking if you get it right like listen like that you're gonna have cups and glasses store in the dishwasher but at night come back in they're all clean and all ready to go again yeah and it's all the detail of the whole studio has been yeah because I suppose the old the alternative would have been having a large or a sink yeah of some description yeah just switching on exactly and I knew that I knew that because the toilet was going to be six by three as it wouldn't be that wide therefore I'd only have smallish sink and I didn't really want to duplicate having two sinks I thought well if I go for a dishwasher I've still got water out here but the dishwasher means that everything gets cleaner quicker yeah and I'm tempted to rent this place out when I'm not using it because I do studying quite a lot of the time and I wanted someone to be able to walk in and just use this as a whole Space they've got everything they need the water and toilet and the waiting area and just a whole self-contained unit so they can come in do their work and go home yeah excellent oh that's I really appreciate that thank you
