Teenage Den — Get Them Out The House

okay I'm here with Alex what's the story here then Alex this is a studio that we've built in radlet near London It's a larger Studio than we've ever done not larger in square merage but in projection so what we've done is a studio that's 18t by 15 ft in old money or 5460 by 4 550 in new money so what they wanted was a bigger room for a games room uh which we'll show you in a bit but basically what we show you the size of the studio okay have a look at it you can see it's setting a beautiful location do like this Garden somebody works hard on it and what is this getting used for uh Julie and Andrew have got uh three boys and they are uh aged 17 I think 17 old twins and one of the boys is about 20 and they're still at home you know what the prices are like in London the chances of are moving out for a long while are quite Li so they built this room down the end of the garden for them all to be able to probably get out of each other under each other's feet so uh family it's not it's not so it's got a small fly over on the top there yeah that's so you can stand here it's always handy you can stand and open the door while the uh if it's raining which is nice but it's a nice little deck area so you can put table and chairs on it if you choose to and he's got two sets of French doors yeah I think he wants the doors so that uh it's like an a if you step in you can see so it's 15t this way so that's that's quite wide it's 18t that way right so you can see what huge space it's created so this is this means cuz we we used to be limited with like a 12T yes we uh on on one of the dimensions didn't we so that's gone up to 15t now then that's gone up to 15t Bri our clever engineer designer has uh come up with a solution to to get that span and the strength and keep everything as it should be with the ventilation and the insulation it's a clever use of folded steel steel when folded becomes a lot stronger so Brian's wrapped steel around the rafters and then we've had that checked out and calculated in that we'll stand that that distance fortunately we've got the splies that help us do these things with Brian's clever ideas my ideas as well yeah okay I'll just have a pan around so they've got a boxing it definitely looks like the kids have uh taken this over haven't they pool table sofas Julie did say they've slept down here already yeah this is a bed set that's a bed set' got the computer again G this machine okay that's fantastic thank you

64 m what's it in me 15 ft 4 550 4 M 550 mm that's internal measurement we talk internal measurement external yeah external add another 650 mm to get the external yeah yeah as you can see what it does allow is that that's the standard size tool table from a home and you're never going to be restricted on taking your shots are you that's going to that's going to flow yeah but you didn't need the 15 ft for that cuz the 3640 will work for that a lot of people ask about pool tables and 3640 will give you that pool table right as you can see here three boys in here one pool table this isn't one pool table room is it this is a lot going on in here you can see from Julie's voice it's one it's really changed a lot things for yeah I'd L this when I was a kid got hul okay that's great thank you

okay I'm here with Alex and uh we're at a studio what size is this one Alex 18t by 9 foot okay it's the gray and the Oak and it's about 5460 by 2730 and it's uh for teenage Den right you can show me around it the Great Wall great PL and the uh they've got French doors on the front French doors small deck I like the small deck that's a smaller uh smaller deck and fly over then isn't it yeah and then inside got the couch the bean bags the TV and a small panel here nicely decorated and the all important beer fridge beer fridge Budweiser fridge yeah Nikki was just saying that it's mostly the teenagers that use it but husband comes up here for the Grand Prix because yeah yeah to watch the grand hates the sound of the Grand Prix she was just saying that they've got a small panel heater they just installed that they have that comes on half an hour in the morning half an hour in the evening and it really keeps the chill off the place all right so it means whenever they come in it it's really nice H so they've just installed a little panel here on a timer then yeah right that's CL great okay that's fantastic thank you
